Pro Sereis I Week-6-Matchups

The Week Six Walk-through

This week gave the variety of near even-record teams a chance to break out from the middle of the pack. For the most part, teams matched their results from the previous week, extending win or loss streaks for better or worse.
The Kings and Legends kicked off the Wednesday action. The Legends were looking for the first win of their season and came oh so close. At a score of 30-34, the Kings narrowly edged them out to win the game. The victory pushes the Kings up to second place in their division and further digs the Legends into the bottom spot, where at this point they could use a token win.
Coincidentally ending up in the exact same score, the second match was between the closely matched Hustle and Destroyers. Each one game off an even record, and ending up 3-3, the close finish was somewhat to be expected. The Destroyers took home the W to snap their two game slide and look to continue that momentum up the win column.

The last game of Wednesday evening was a bit of a beatdown. Coming off a close win, the Lasersharks would surely have preferred an exciting matchup for viewers but were instead handed a 54 point bomb by the Raptors, losing by 39 at the final buzzer. The Raptors move up to 4-2 while the Lasersharks join the other middling teams at 3-3.

The Austin Burners entered Saturday with a single win for their franchise, hoping to heat up against Echo Club Kansas City who looked excellent earlier in the season but who had since fallen to 3-2. The clash ended with ECKC up by a cool 11 points in a 54-43 finish, sending the Burners tumbling further down their now four loss streak.

The Dallas Knights and Chicago Wizards game was the only dual 2-3 record matchup of the day, and will likely end up being a finals knockout blow for the loser. Dallas put up another 50 point scoring affair to ice the Wizards. With a victory by 26 points, the Knights tacked on another win to make it a streak and are scoring well enough to have a shot at clinching a postseason spot.

At this point, everyone ought to be a bit wary of playing the Orlando Psyclones. At 5-0, they were a favorite over the Montreal Freeze, but if there was a spread to be had they likely would have topped it. Swooping in with one of the highest scores of the season at 73 points, the Psyclones are making it clear they are the team to beat. Fortunately for the Freeze, 3-3 is still just a perfectly fine record to maintain postseason contention.

Week 7 will see the return of cross-divisional play. Last time around, the divisions tied at 3-3 for games won so we’ll see if one division can pull away this time around. It’s also the first week where teams have the potential to lock in a playoff spot, so we’ll see if anyone can manage that feat!
